I was gifted my first bottle of perfume at 14. I had my deodorant before that and a body spray but no perfume and they certainly did not convey the ladylike sophistication that a teenage girl longs for. I wanted a scent that matched my desire to forge an identity that says 'I am no longer a little girl'. I've loved that perfume ever since and each time I get a whiff of Chanel No. 5, I am once again a 14 year old ready to conquer the world.
Would you go back to chanel no.5 or have you moved on?
ReplyDeleteI still have a Chanel No. 5, not the Parafum but the Elixir Sensuel. I do not like the Parafum as much as I did when I was a teenager. The Exlixir is great to rub on the wrists or to dab a tiny bit on the neck. It is a fragrance gel, and scent does not stay as long the original. So, this is something I use only when I am out for a short time.
ReplyDeleteThe clerk at Macy's introduced me to a milder Chanel No.5 spray called Eau Premier, and it is a younger scent. I would rather have that than the Parafum, but I guess that is for later. For me, too many No. 5's is not a good idea, when there are so many other sweet scents waiting to be tested !!!
Oh I have tested Eau Premiere as well.. just love it! How about coco? or is that a tale for another post?
ReplyDeleteBeen a while since I tried Coco, you have just triggered my desire to try it. Hopefully I will have a full report for you soon
